Research activity in the Section of Technical Infrastructure includes the following projects:
Investigations are carried out in the Bio-fuel Laboratory on the stands for: synthesis of fatty acid methyl esters, auger press for cold pressing of oil plant seeds; in the Combustion Processes Laboratory on the stands for: visualization of liquid fuel combustion processes, investigations on the effect of injection parameters and fuel properties on combustion process in Diesel engines, as well as on utilization of model fuel cell. In 1990 in the Section there was established the Vehicle Testing Station, equipped with modern, computerized diagnostic equipment. The Station performs both the didactic and service functions. Within international cooperation, the Section conducts joint research projects with corresponding units of Agricultural University in Lvov (Ukraine) and Fach-hochshule in Darmstadt (Germany). Section organizes conferences on recycling and bio-fuels issues. |

Research projects realized in the Section of Production Engineering are focused on engineering of various pro-duction processes in agriculture and food engineering, with consideration to the requirements of natural envi-ronment protection and animal welfare. The detailed re-search projects include the following topics:
Experimental works are conducted in Extrusion Labora-tory on two extruders and a measuring stand equipped with a LabView system and a shadow less chamber with a video camera. It enables to determine the extrusion process parameters and quality of extrudates. The Ani-mal Behaviour Laboratory is equipped with an acoustic-vision monitoring set, which enable to investigate animal reactions to external stimuli. Within cooperation with foreign scientific institutions, the Section conducts joint research projects with British Co-lumbia University in Vancouver (Canada), Bologna Uni-versity in Bologna (Italy), Royal Veterinary and Agricul-tural University in Copenhagen (Denmark), Ege Univer-sity in Izmir (Turkey). |
